October 16, 2020
Dear JCSD Families:
The purpose of this letter is to provide information to our families from the JCSD administration. Late afternoon on Friday, October 16, 2020, Juniata County School District learned that a Juniata High School student has tested positive for COVlD-19. The student was last in school on October 14, 2020.
As a result of this positive test, contact tracing following the PA Department of Health (DOH) Guidelines is being conducted. JCSD has been in contact with DOH to begin monitoring this situation and will continue to provide guidance. We will be working through the weekend with DOH.
As of October 16, 2020, there are two active, positive student COVID-19 cases in the district with one previous positive. Also, there are no JCSD employees that have tested positive for COVID-19 to date for this school year.
If you have a student that is being evaluated and tested for COVID-19 infection, please notify the school nurse and keep that student at home while awaiting test results.
