Congratulations to the following 8th graders for their placement in this year's essay contest, sponsored by our local VFW: Sophia Smith (1st place), Jacee Price (2nd place), and Kade Wagner (3rd place). This year's essay topic was "Being a Good American" and Sophia's essay was judged on knowledge of the theme, theme development, and clarity of ideas. The essay had to be 300 to 400 words in length. Sophia not only won at the District Level, but also placed 2nd at the State level! Congratulations to all three winners -- we're TJHS proud of you!!!
