We are excited to announce the JCSD has partnered with Geisinger Health Plan's Pediatric Dental Screening Program to offer all students in grades 1, 3, and 7 a no-cost pediatric dental screening, fluoride treatment, and toothbrush cleaning.
The dental team will be in the District this coming Spring of 2023. The Geisinger team will consist of both dental hygienists and a dentist. Students will need a completed permission slip to be evaluated. This dental screening will meet the state-mandated requirement for students in grades 1, 3, and 7. These screenings will take place during the school day and are totally FREE and your insurance will NOT be billed.
If a dental problem is noted during the screening, parents/guardians will be notified. Notification of the dental issue, along with the information about oral health, additional resources, and information on obtaining follow-up care will be sent home with your child in a sealed envelope.
Please complete the permission form sent home with your child, sign it, and return it to the school nurse by Friday, February 24th for your child to receive this free screening. If you need a form, please contact the TJHS office.
